I went to Liverpool this week (July 26), the most touching place to me is an exhibition called “Double Fantasy”. My friend and I did not know that exhibition before, we just came to the Museum of Liverpool and this exhibition is holding on the third floor.
That exhibition is telling a love story between John Lennon and Yoko Ono. John is a famous singer in the Beatles and Yoko is a Japanese artist.
Their love is really sweet, they understand and relay on each other. But this love story is a tragedy, Join died because of a murder, when he was only 40 years old. In order to commemorate Join, Yoko hold this “Double Fantasy” in Join’s hometown Liverpool. To show the memories between them.

The whole exhibition only contains two main colours, black and white. There are may interesting stuffs of them such as bed glasses and even some handwriting things, through these I can feel the purest love between them. Here do not have too much explain words or directions, it more like a memory box, show the original story.
Also there are some interactive place, we can take a notes and write down your own memory of love, and this exhibition have a karaoke room, which can keep you and your friends in a small room and listening the song that sing by John and Yoko.
It is hard to copy the exhibition emotion by words, every details there can see the love emotion between them. As a design student, it also helpful on my study. A perfect design is not necessary to have a gorgeous appearance, the way you show the emotion on your work is more important. Try to make audience understand you by your design, instead of just make them say beautiful on your works.
